The VOLUME OF NAVAL ARCHITECTURE PLATES Early 19th Century Includes thirty-nine numbered folding plates, all titled Naval Architecture, Plate, providing various construction plans for a multitude of ships and boats including an 80-gun ship, a 36-gun frigate, a 50-gun frigate with launch, assorted sloops, an 18-gun brig of war to be built in 1804, the Royal Sovereign, a yacht built for the prince royal of Denmark, a fire ship, a bomb vessel, a cutter, an East Indiaman, a 170-ton Collier brig, a Virginia-built boat fitted for a privateer, a schooner, a Virginia pilot boat, a Berwick smack, a Southampton fishing hoy, an 80-gun long boat, a whaleboat and others.

Published 1802-20 by Longman, Hurst, Rees & Orme  then re-issued for "Rees'S Naval Architecture 1819 - 20 using some engravings from the cyclopedia much enlarged and extended  By Abraham Rees. After Trafalgar the naval interest was high so a compilation of the naval images was expanded and released as a specific collection in 1820  (Hydraulics-Naval Architecture with 195 engravings) The 1st edition was containing   up to 15 large fold out plates and are exceedingly rare in good condition as on quality rag paper for a change, dated 1816.Virtually all plates engraved by Wilson Lowry. Superb detailed plates mainly of a ship proposed to carry 74 guns and a frigate and east indiaman.
